Deutsche Bank appoints Emily Smith into new shareholder advisory and corporate broking role

Deutsche Bank has today announced that Emily Smith has been appointed to a newly created role within the bank’s Global Capital Markets (GCM) division.

Based in Sydney, Smith will transfer from the Company Research team to build a new Shareholder Advisory and Corporate Broking service effective 1 February 2018.

In this role, Smith will be responsible for building new senior management and board level relationships with a targeted group of large cap Australian clients. Emily will report to Adrian Todd, Head of GCM Australia. Smith joined Deutsche Bank in 2003 in the Research division. During her time as an analyst, she has covered a broad range of sectors including building materials, steel and REITs.

“Emily’s appointment reinforces our continued investment in Australia’s franchise and in particular our focus on providing our clients with a full range of capital markets solutions” said Todd.

GCM incorporates four product areas: Equity Capital Markets (ECM), the Strategic Equity Transactions Group (SETG), Debt Capital Markets (which also includes Syndicate and Leveraged Debt Capital Markets) and the Financing and Solutions Group (incorporating FIC Sales). It is a specialist product coverage group that works in partnership with Corporate Finance Coverage, Equities and Fixed Income & Currencies to deliver the full breadth of Deutsche Bank’s capability.
